It’s always an exciting day when the Birchbox arrives!
This month there were three box designs to pick from all themed by the decades; 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s. Being a 1980’s baby I picked 1980’s naturally!
It’s a fun box desing with bright colours and totally 80’s!
First up we have Percy & Reed, Quite Frankly Flawless Finishing Polish.
This is a lightweight styling product for the hair; it has horse chestnut extract which keep your hair in place but without it being too stiff or greasy and the sunflower wax locks in some moisture. The directions say to use a small pea sized amount to smooth your hair with.
The packaging is really cute and the product smells great. I’m looking forward to trying this on my crazy hair!
I was very excited to see this next product in my Birchbox. It’s the Pixi, Shea Butter Lip Balm in Pixi Pink.
The timing was great as I’d just finished my last lip balm, so I opened this straight away and applied to my lips!
When I think about the 80’s I definitely relate it to bright makeup and pink lips fits the bill perfectly. This balm is a throwback to the pink lips but with today’s nourishment formula of shea butter and vitamin E. It’s very nourishing, it felt great on the lips and added a great pop of colour!
I’m VERY happy with this product 🙂
The next product is also something that I’m in dire need of right now and so was, again, very happy to receive. It’s the Luseta, Coconut Milk Hair Mask. A perfect little tube of nourishment treatment to give your hair some TLC.
This is to be used on damp hair after shampooing and left for five minutes before rinsing and will leave your hair feeling super soft and repaired and is also fine to use on coloured hair.
I’ve had a little sniff of the product and it smells divine! I’m a sucker for anything that smells like coconut, especially hair products.
Next up we have a Birchbox exclusive – The Beauty Crop, Eyeshadow Trio in Love You So Latte. This little trio can help create the perfect smokey eyed look or be used individually to define your look to create a dramatic eye makeup look.
Finally, we have Laura Geller, Double Take Baked Versatile Powder Foundation in Medium. It’s quite brave putting a product like this in to a Birchbox as the shade will either work brilliantly or it will go horrifically wrong! Luckily, the shade they’ve sent me works fairly well on me! This formula has been baked on a terracotta tile to lock in its long wear finish.
I’ve already dabbed this on my face – I had minimal makeup on a couple of days ago and then went to my sisters house after work so I applied this before I went and I really liked the finish – it completely upgraded my look!
Another fabulous Birchbox – perhaps even my favourite one so far! I’m really excited by all the products I’ve received in this months Birchbox and they are completely right up my street in terms of look and types of products that I love/need – they even managed to get in a couple of products that I was looking to purchase!
That’s all for now, I hoped you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe if you haven’t already for more Beauty, Fashion and Lifestyle posts!
