Yesterday I found myself in Sidcup (UK) for a friends birthday where we enjoyed Adventure Golf (crazy golf) at Sidcup Family Golf – a great venue at which they offer driving range, short game practice and of course Adventure Golf!
I’ve never played golf in any way shape or form before so this was going to be an interesting couple of hours for me! My hand-eye co-ordination is shockingly bad, I can barely catch a ball!
But we were there in the name of fun and that was what we were going to do!
At £8.50 for 1 game (18 holes) we set off. My first shot was terrible – but I blame my bag! It fell off my shoulders as I made the shot, so I barely hit the ball 3 feet from where I was stood! We took that as a practice shot and I started again, learning my lesson and putting my bag to the side out of the way!
Shot 1 – almost a hole in 1!
Shot 2 – winning!
Beginners luck must be a real thing!
The 18 hole courses consisted of slopes, secret holes and a water stream to avoid and was really good fun.
My creative friends used some crazy tactics to pot their balls, including ‘drawing’ a line with their golf club from the ball to the hole to suddenly becoming left handed for the game!
My earlier revelation of being rubbish at anything like this proved incorrect for crazy golf and I got around the course with relative ease which surprised me more than anyone else as they struggled with some of the games!
All in all we had a great time and a good laugh playing. There were families with young children and adult groups enjoying the course. A superb way to spend a couple of hours.
If you’re ever looking for something fun to do in the Sidcup area I’d definitely recommend checking out Sidcup Family Golf. It makes a great family or friends outing. Great for kids and adults, with a cute little coffee shop and parking on site and a dinosaur theme running through the adventure golf to keep the little ones excited.
Let me know in the comments below if you’ve been to any good Crazy Golf courses and where you’d recommend. I’d love to check out different courses – it’s really good fun, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would!
